Description :
ICEX España exportación e inversiones will be present with a Spain Pavilion.
On this occasion, the Spain Pavilion will showcase the products of 5 exhibitors, along with a tasting area where a comprehensive guided tasting program will take place. This will allow visitors to discover the diversity of Spanish cheese and traditional specialties that pair the cheeses.
Spain is a great cheese-producing country with recognized productions dating back to ancient times (the word 'quesos' comes from the Latin 'caseus,' meaning casein). Numerous AOPs (Appellations d'Origine Protégée) guarantee the quality of Spanish cheese.
The uniqueness of the Spanish cheese offering comes from the use of cow, goat, and sheep milk in their production. Spain still possesses a vast herd of native breeds of sheep, goats, and even cows, acclimated to their environment, climate, and sometimes limited vegetation and pastures. This results in a very rich and distinctive milk, reflected in the flavor and taste of the cheese. Sheep breeds such as Manchega, Lacha, Rasa, or Churra are the origin of Manchego and many other cheeses from central and northern Spain. In the north, cow's milk predominates, and numerous native goat breeds contribute their characteristics to often artisanal cheese productions.
