With the takeover of ‘L'Atelier du Chocolat’, Maison Agour is diversifying its offer but maintaining its core values: bringing to life the best of the Basque gastronomic tradition.
Maison Agour has just announced the acquisition of ‘L'Atelier du Chocolat’, a chocolate-making institution established in Bayonne since 1951, famous for its emblematic ‘bouquets of chocolates’ and its rigorous choice of raw materials.

Maison Agour, exhibitor at the Cheese and Dairy Products Show, believes that this partnership makes a great deal of sense: ‘The acquisition of L'Atelier du Chocolat is a logical step for Maison Agour, which is looking to expand its range of authentic, quality products.

While we began our adventure with Basque cheeses, we have always been keen to offer products that tell a story, the story of our region and its know-how.

By acquiring L'Atelier du Chocolat, we are adding a new string to our bow by expanding our gourmet universe with quality chocolates’.

This change in status should in no way affect the quality of L'Atelier du Chocolat's products. ‘Nothing changes in terms of our commitment to quality.

L'Atelier du Chocolat will continue to produce its fine chocolates with the same rigour and the same respect for tradition’ assures Maison Agour.

But respect for tradition and know-how does not rule out a few surprises: ‘New recipes and combinations will be introduced, combining the flavours of chocolate and products from the Basque Country. Expect sweet surprises that will enrich your moments of indulgence’ even announces Maison Agour.

You've been warned! And if you're still in any doubt about the possible combinations of cheese and chocolate, you can read the many articles (from Tentation Fromage, Les Toqués du fromage and Les Nouveaux fromagers) that promote the benefits of this delicate combination through numerous examples of successful pairings.
